One small bowl
Soft Sabudana Kheer
From twelve months, cooked until every pearl is completely soft and translucent.
What you need
- 3 tbsp small sabudana (sago), soaked 4 hours
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp jaggery powder or sugar
- A pinch of cardamom
How to make it
- 1 Drain the soaked sabudana completely.
- 2 Simmer it in the milk on a low flame for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring often, until every pearl is soft and see-through.
- 3 Stir in the jaggery and the cardamom and cook for one more minute.
- 4 Mash lightly so no whole firm pearls are left, and cool fully before serving.
Swaps
Broken wheat (dalia) kheer for an older toddler who is fine with wheat.
Keeping it
Keeps in the fridge for a day; it thickens, so loosen with warm milk.
